WHAT HAS GOD GIVEN ME?

Text: 1 Corinthians 4:7

“What hast thou that thou didst not receive?”

Message:

Everything we have ultimately comes from God.

We often look at what we do not have and forget to appreciate what God has already placed in our hands.

Moses was standing before God, worried about what he could do. God did not immediately give him something new. He asked: “What is that in thine hand?” — Exodus 4:2

It was only a rod. But in God’s hands, that ordinary rod became an instrument for extraordinary things.

Perhaps you have been asking God for more while overlooking what you already have.

You may have knowledge, education, a skill, a talent, time, good health and strength, a job or business, relationships, influence, spiritual gifts, life experience, a testimony, or an opportunity.

The question is not only “What am I waiting for?” Ask instead, “What has God already given me?”

Your ability to teach may be somebody else’s opportunity to learn.

Your experience may become somebody else’s wisdom.

Your testimony may become somebody else’s encouragement.

Your position may become somebody else’s open door.

You may be asking God for what He has already placed in your hands.

Today, write down five things God has given you. Then beside each one, write: “How can I use this for God and for others?”

Prayer:

Father, open my eyes to recognize what You have already placed in my hands.

Deliver me from complaining about what I lack while ignoring what I possess.

Teach me to recognize, develop and use my gifts for Your glory, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
