Why You Must Not Fail
Text: Proverbs 23:7
“…As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he”.
Message
You are your thinking. If you think you have failed then you have failed. As you are no better than your thinking, let me reset your mind as to why you must not fail.
There are many reasons why you must not fail.
1. God’s covenant with the righteous is a covenant of peace. So, the righteous must not fail as failure is reserved only for the wicked. Micah 7:19-20 says:
“He will again have compassion on us, and will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea. You will give truth to Jacob and mercy to Abraham, which You have sworn to our fathers from days of old.”
2. Failure is not a prized award neither is it peculiar to you. Very many celebrated celebrities have had a share of failure. So it’s not your exclusive heirloom. You too can succeed out of failure.
3. You have what it takes to succeed. There are innate, latent powers, potentials, and talents looming large within you. Failure is challenging you to bring them out. Failure is telling you that you have not discovered, developed, and properly deployed your potentials for maximum profit.
To succeed is to disappoint your enemies. You know, there are people who are waiting to feast on your failure. They are happy you are on the floor. They want you to remain there on the ground of failure so they can validate their opinion and conclusions about you. You have to disappoint them. This is a task that must be done!
You’ve got to prove the essential point to those people who don’t believe you can make it in life. They conceive you don’t have what it takes to make it. Prove them wrong. When Nathaniel doubted the possibility of anything good coming out of Nazareth, Jesus replied, ‘You will see greater things than this.’ In other words, I will prove to you that not only something good but greater things can come out of Nazareth.
You failure means you are closer to success than when you started. So your failure should motivate you, instead of staying down with the stigma of failure, you can make it a challenge to succeed. In any case think of those who will benefit from your success. The truth is that, there are people who will remain in obscurity of life until your light of success shines on them. Therefore, because of them you cannot afford to fail.
You have no reasonable or rational excuse for failure. Yeah, if the physically challenged, the orphans, those from poor background, those from broken homes, school dropouts have succeeded, what excuse do you think you have to end a failure? There is none.
Every failure is when treated as a journey an access route to success in it than being a destination. Your failure is a message to you that you have employed a wrong method. Therefore, all you need do is look at it again and you will see your error and correct yourself.
Finally, think of the reward for success. The world pays hugely for success. The price the world pays for success is priceless and tantalizing. On the other hand failure is an orphan. It is a lonely road.
Don’t expect any ovation if you choose to give up where you failed.
Be wise, Psalm 125:3 says:
“For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the lot of the righteous; Lest the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.”
Keep your candle and it’s light.
You will succeed earlier than you expected.
Amen.
