Wisdom Tool Kit For Daily living (Day 268)

Daily Devotional

YOUR PAST MAY EXPLAIN YOU, BUT IT DOES NOT HAVE TO DEFINE YOU

Text: Philippians 3:13–14

“This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark…”

Message:

One of the greatest ways to waste more time is to spend today mourning yesterday.

“I should have started earlier.”
“I should have known better.”
“I would have been further by now.”

Perhaps you would have. But you are here now.

Peter denied Jesus, but Peter’s failure did not become the final chapter of his life.
Jesus restored him, And Peter moved forward.

Your past may explain where you are.
It does not have to determine where you are going.

Stop counting only what you lost.
Start asking: “What can I still do with what remains?”
You cannot change yesterday, But you can change today, And today’s obedience can change the direction of tomorrow.

Do not allow regret over yesterday to steal another day from you.

Prayer:

Father, deliver me from being imprisoned by my past.

Help me learn from yesterday without living there.

Give me courage to rise, move forward and pursue Your purpose for my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Declaration

My past will not imprison me.
I refuse to live in regret.
I am moving forward.
I will press toward God’s purpose for my life.
What happened yesterday will not stop what God wants to do tomorrow. Amen.
