There is hope for you

Text: 1 Samuel 30:26 “And when David came to Ziklag, he sent of the spoil unto the elders of Judah, even to his friends, saying, Behold a present for you of the spoil of the enemies of the LORD;”

Message

1 Samuel 30 shows that the Devil knows when and where to strike and gain maximum impact on his victim.

Each of your wins devil treats as a mistake on his part and hope to make his next move daring and devastating.

David won in the war front only for Satan to score against him a home defeat!

Those who had been praising David became resentful of him. David became distressed and nevertheless encouraged himself in the God of his salvation.

Truth be told, most times, when you find yourself down, it is not because you are weak or faithless. Rather, it is because you have been too strong in the past and for too long. So, cheer up!

From Judges 16:1-22, we read of Samson, who was not a Jewish “green giant” or a “gullible Goliath.” He was no retarded Hercules, nor was he an overweight Romeo.

The truth is Samson was one of the great spiritual giants of the Bible. No wine nor strong drink ever entered into his mouth. He belonged to the most consecrated group, the Nazarites. Of him, it was said, “The Spirit of the Lord came upon him,” more than of any other man in the Old Testament.

Samson was brilliant. He thought of the idea once of tying the tails of 300 foxes together. He set them on fire and let them loose in the grain fields of the Philistines. He was strong. He once took the jawbone of a donkey and slew 1000 men. He was a great leader. He ruled Israel as a judge for 20 years.

Yet, sad to say, he fell, lost his hair and power. The Philistines put him on exhibit at a great festival and public sacrifice to Dagon, their pagan god.

The great Temple of Dagon was filled to capacity with 3000 on the roof. They gouged out the eyes of Samson, bound him, and made him grind at the mill. Now, picture Samson going round and round at the mill. What a pitful sight to behold!

Suddenly, he feels the top of his head. With complete shock and delight, he becomes aware that his hair is growing again. He begins to feel stronger. The load seems lighter. Though his eyes will never see again, his hair is growing again, and strength and power come back to him.

Say what you like, God is to use him again to teach the Philistines the greatest Samsonic lesson in their national history.

Samson hitherto weak fought back again in a way that caused the Philistines’ ever green sad  memories.

It is my prayer that your hair grows again and that you regain all your lost grounds without fail now by fire, in the name of Jesus Christ.
