Love Eternal

Text: John 3:16-17 (ESV)

“16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him

should not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to

condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.”

Message

A family was facing hunger due to poverty. Mum called her son into believing prayers to a loving God who provides.

Next morning, an unknown woman knocked with bags of assorted food for the family.

The lad in excitement said to the woman, “I know your name. You are Mrs GodLove!”

The moral of this story is that we are God’s, so we must be motivated to give out of love.

Love gives and gives Sacrificial.

That’s where you and I come in, and I’m using this opportunity to call your attention to the greatest and only eternal love.

I am here to tell you about that one true love that is forever sure and

consistent, a love that doesn’t vary with emotions, a love that is more than the love that we have for our families.

I want to tell you about God’s love for you, and for me, and for us all who believe in the finished works of Gods only begotten Son-Jesus Christ. So I have the “most famous verse from the most famous book” which is John 3:16. It says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him

should not perish but have eternal life.”

How do I know God loves the world?

It is there all over the

bible and creatures are in proof. At creation, the loving God puts in place all that man needed before he created man.

Who would have done that for any reason than a steadfast love?

Other proofs you say?

That’s okay.

You can not give what you dont have.

God instructs us to love. Love your neighbours as yourself, love your enemies(Matthew 5:44).

In 1 John 4:8, we read, “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”

I know when you love someone, you care for them.

People sometimes talk about love language wherein we go as far as giving gifts. Why judge God differently?

Something important happened at the beginning of creation. We disobeyed God, God

became angry, and we were separated from Him because of sin.

But God never stopped loving us even after the separation, and don’t forget that “God is love”.

Come to think of it. Some of us deal with separation in our lives, and I believe you know how painful separation can

be.

When I was young, I had a pet dog named Bingo. One day, someone left the front gate open.

Bingo ran out of the gate, and a speeding vehicle hit Bingo and Bingo died… I cried my eyes

out. I love my dog. My dog is my company. My dog is part of me! So, now I know what it means to be separated from a loved one.

God also feels the pain of separation from us because He created us and loves us. So, He

made a very difficult but important decision out of love to let Jesus Christ come to this world and reunite us back with Him to avoid eternal condemnation.

When you go into the GP for blood testing, and the nurses bring out the needle to collect

your blood sample, who here laughs or smiles when their blood is been collected?

That is a difficult but important action and w3 yield to it for our own good and those of our loved ones.

Jesus Christ might not be able to unite all the separation in your lives, but He alone can certainly unite you with GOD to avoid your eternal condemnation and damnation.

Have you seen anyone who lived or lived for 200 years?

No. It is given to all to die once after that is judgement.

So, eternity is real. Even if you are not, I’m not sure you want to take the risk of eternal death?

Take this opportunity to maximize GOD ‘s difficult but important decision out of His love for us.

Remember, JOHN 3:16 is “Motivated by GOD’s love. Marked by Jesus Christ’s sacrifice. It is meant to reunite us with God for eternity.

Gods love is motivated by love, marked by sacrifice, and meant for our living and being with him for eternity.
