‎WHAT IS BLOCKING THE FLOW?

Text: Hebrews 12:1

“Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us…”

Message:

‎Sometimes the problem is not that God has given us nothing. The problem is that something is blocking the flow.
‎
A pipe may be connected to a water source, but if it is blocked, the water cannot reach its destination. Likewise, God may have placed gifts, opportunities and resources in us, but certain attitudes can prevent them from blessing others.
‎
‎What can block the flow?

1. SELFISHNESS – “It’s all about me.”

  1. GREED – “I need to keep everything for myself.”
  2. PRIDE – “I don’t need anyone, and nobody deserves my help.”
  3. FEAR – “What if I give and I don’t have enough?”
  4. UNFORGIVENESS – “I will never let go of what they did to me.”
  5. COMPARISON – “I don’t have what others have, so there is nothing I can give.”
  6. LAZINESS – “Someone else will do it.”
  7. DESIRE FOR RECOGNITION – “If nobody notices me, I won’t do it.”
  8. SIN – Allowing disobedience to weaken our relationship with God and our usefulness to Him.

Jesus said: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father…” — Matthew 5:16

‎Sometimes we are praying: “Lord, bless me more.” While God may be saying: “Release what I have already given you.”
    ‎
The problem may not be the supply. The problem may be the blockage.

    ‎Ask yourself honestly:
    ‎What am I holding onto?
‎Whom have I refused to forgive?
    ‎Where have I become selfish?
    ‎What gift have I neglected?
    ‎What opportunity have I ignored?
‎What can I give that I am currently keeping?
‎What is God asking me to release?
    ‎
Then make a deliberate decision to remove one blockage today.
    ‎
‎A blessed life is not merely a life that receives; it is a life through which God’s blessings flow.
    ‎
    ‎GLORY TO JESUS
