I Will Sing
Text: Job 13:15 (KJV)
“Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: But I will maintain mine own ways before him.”
Message
You are not the first in pain or going to be the last. You are also not the only one now! If others are to tell you theirs, you will not want to exchange yours with them. Instead, you will start thanking and singing to God.
In our todays text, we see Job stating his case to his earthly audience and, more importantly, also to God. Job is sure of his righteousness but is not sure of how God sees him. Job asserted unequivocably, “Even if God would bring Job to death, Job’s trust in God would not fail.”
In this world of manifest injustice, manipulation, oppression, affliction, ungodliness, confusion, tribulations, and a host of other odds, time comes when things get really messy above measure. You, in faith, pray, receive answers, yet no demonstrative concrete manifestation or evidence that you’ve had what you prayed for. In time as this we feel abandoned, question our faith, and even accuse God of turning his eyes away from us even as we feel used, forsaken, forgotten, and abandoned.
Don’t worry, none of the characters trait you, mentioned are of God.
The truth is difficult times in life are like washing machines; they twist us, spin us, and knock us around, but in the end, we come out cleaner, brighter, and better than it meet us.
Also, you will soon find that everything in life happens for a reason. You may not see it now, but sooner or later, God will reveal why He let the things happen. His thoughts, plans, and will and way are beyond ours yet are the best.
Don Moen, in his album titled “I will sing,” captured the right attitude and way out of the quagmire profoundly when he sang as hereunder;
Lord, you seem so far away
A million miles or more, it feels today
And though I haven’t lost my faith
I must confess right now that it’s hard for me to pray
But I don’t know what to say
And I don’t know where to start
But as you give the grace
With all that’s in my heart
I will sing (yes)
I will praise
Even in my darkest hour
Through the sorrow and the pain
I will sing
I will praise
Lift my hands to honour You
Because Your word is true
I will sing
Lord, it’s hard for me to see
All the thoughts and plans you have for me (yes, it is)
But I will put my trust in You
Knowing that You died to set me free (oh, thank God)
But I don’t know what to say (what to say)
And I don’t know where to start (where to start)
But as you give the grace
With all that’s in my heart
I will sing
I will praise
Even in my darkest hour
Through the sorrow and the pain
I will sing (yes, I will)
I will praise
Lift my hands to honour You
Because Your word is true (sing it again)
I will sing (oh, we sing tonight)
I will praise
Even in my darkest hour
Through the sorrow and the pain
I will sing
I will praise
Lift my hands to honour. You
Because Your word is true
I will sing, I will sing, I will sing
Oh, we sing to You, Lord
Oh, we sing to You, Lord, tonight
(Hallelujah) we sing to You, Lord
Oh, we lift our voices and say
We worship you, Lord
We sing to you, Lord, we sing, we sing, we sing
We sing, we sing, we sing
Oh, we worship You, Lord
Oh, thank You, Lord
I will sing
Oh, yes, I will
I will sing (Jesus, oh, Jesus)

May our faith, confidence, and trust in God remain unshaken by the tides and storms of life in Jesus’ name
ifestyle of humility and obedience. Let us trust in God’s faithfulness to bring about restoration and healing in our lives.
May we receive the grace and courage to return to pick the pieces of our lives where we have missed it.
May anger and pride not deny us the window to our restorations.
May we be favoured not to destroy our future on the lap of the present convenience.
May God forgive us our past behaviour and heal us from disobedience henceforth in the name of Jesus Christ.
