Dont Let Any Or Multiple Failure Permanently Define You
Text: Job 14:7-9
“At least there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail. Its roots may grow old in the ground, and its stumps die in the soil, yet at the scent of water, it will bud and put forth shoots like a plant.” (NIV)
Message
Many of us are in the habit of allowing a failure or multiple of failure to define us. We quit. We give up. We resign to fate. Sometimes, we in error say it’s the handiwork of God. The popular phrase is, “It is God humbling us for our sin.” How wrong we are most times!
Our todays text says, “At least there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail. Its roots may grow old in the ground, and its stumps die in the soil, yet at the scent of water, it will bud and put forth shoots like a plant.”
In Judges 16:1-22, we read how Samson felt his hair growing again. He cried and prayed for one last victory. The hair does grow, and the power does return. The time comes when he asks a lad to lead him to the two middle pillars of the heathen temple. He gives one last prayer to God, and he asserts one last bang. He drags the pillars; the roof falls, and all the people are killed.
Though Samson is also killed, and as he looks in the face of his Lord, he possesses victory.
The gushing wells may be stopped for a season, but soon, the living water will gush through again.
The beautiful tree in the forest will lose its leaves, but when spring returns, it will begin to bud.
I dont know where you have failed. Your own hair can grow, too.
You who was a Teacher of the Word but lost the power? Feel the top of your head. The hair may be unknown to you and be beginning to grow again.
You who was a soul winner but has drifted from God? God can use you again.
You who were really anointed for God’s uses but now are on the shelf. God is saying, “Wake up, I want to use you, again and again.”
Rise up, ye Samsons, and enjoy other victories. God has them for you for the asking in faith!
David was roundly assaulted, disappointed by friends, yet he encouraged himself in the God of his salvation. He asked and was granted by God to unsure, overtake, and recover all without fail. That shall be your testimony, too, from now on.
I paralyse every power or personality that is blocking your arise and shining after defeats.
Believe it that at least there is hope for you. You will sprout again. Your new shoots will not fail. Your roots may grow old in the ground, and your stumps die in the soil, yet at the scent of water, you will bud and put forth shoots like a plant.
Your glory will arise and shine again.
Every power trying to rebuild the habitation of troubler in your life, is paralyzed, in the name of Jesus Christ.
