Imitators Of The Powers Of The Holy Spirit (Part 3)

Text: St. John 10:10

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

Message

Nothing is impossible with the God of all flesh, does not mean that every demonstration of power is from Him. Take for instance, the use of demonic Powers associated with divination, curses, enchantment, spell, medium practices, palm and star readings. There emphasis is on two is better than one. They facilitate growth in church numerical and financial strength, recruiting and enrolling large congregation for hell instead of smaller congregation going to heaven.

Another is, powers rooted in human confidence of non-reformative provision of any change in human pattern of life, expected of a believer in Christ, even after a sorry for sin. Yet, a sorry for sin without a change in attitude is nothing but confidence in self ability to manipulate others. But you cannot manipulate God.

Also is motivational powers that produces excitement, not transformation. They are bassed on human wisdom, counsel, knowledge, access to information, writing and speaking skills. But the Word convicts and encourage us with Christ as her central message, not pleasing sweet oratory talks that adds no value to God’s kingdom. Bro Gbike Akanni admonished we run away from “poison.” Because poison is not always bitter. Sometimes it is sweet, exciting and motivational but highly disastrous and kills.

There is nothing called small poison. Poison is poison. Scripture says:
“A little leaven leavens the whole lump” (Galatians 5:9).

We also have vocal declarative powers traceable to the spirit of more declarations, less devotion, more “I am,” less “He is”, more miracles, less holiness, more of self-confidence, less of consecration, and more Ministries results, less repentance, more congregation, less dependence on God. These are mere imitative powers.

Finally, we have imitative powers which are from the thoughts and rendering of metaphysics, e.g mind‑power, positive confession, and metaphysical healing.

They may look like it but if it is not it, then it is not it! They are powers not found in apostolic foundation, or in Christ resurrection. Lots more of such powers exists.

Beloved, don’t continue to build your life on powers that even the author later admitted or corrected as fake before he died or
drink from a stream that the writer himself admitted had gone into extremes, dead on arrival have no foundation.

If the foundation is not Christ, the message, no matter how exciting, steals, kill and destroys the soul.

Be careful. Jesus warns, “the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy” (John 10:10). In this verse Jesus contrasts the destructive nature of the enemy with His own mission: to give “life and have it abundantly”.

God bless you for retracting your steps, back, and getting reconciled with Christ Jesus, now.
