Many Members In One Body In Christ

Text:Romans 12:4

“For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:”

Message

The key points to bear and remember in our todays text are that we have many members in one body, and all members do not have the same office. And Romans 12:5 caps, “So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.”

We have many members points to the fact that the Bible respects the person’s and personality, differences, individuality, independence, differing thoughts, freedom, and plurality in the corporate body of Christ.

Also, it points to the fact and the dejure, that we are first individual heirs of Christ Jesus before being joint heir first with christ and then among ourselves!

Further, we are differing members, one of the other, and another. Graces, background, qualifications, and experiences differ. So are gifts, offices, positions, status, troubles, difficulties, and tribulations to mention a few.

We are of different races, colours, sex, economic, financial, and social status but certainly not of different faith. Jesus is the anchor of the souls of our group! Alleluia.

Finally, we are many, means not all men are in this body. Many are called, but few are chosen. The chosen are those who love God and are doing things according to God’s purpose and calling for their lives.

Also, we may not be the majority for the way, and the road is narrow, but we certainly are not few or minority. “We no carry last.”

The second leg of our text went on to say that though we are many members, we are in one body, not different bodies. One body, yes, that’s what the text said. That’s what you read, and that is what it is.

This means that though we represent different things or part of the body, we are to work and work as one body United by His Blood She’d for those that believes in His Name.

One interesting feature of our being one body in christ Jesus is that there is no master servant. We are of equal value and price paid by Christ for each member of the body the same. Each and every part of the body is rooted in the finished work of Christ. The price paid is the blood of the only begotten son of God, shed on the cross of calvary for all who believe in His Name.

Being one body means we are one family. So, no one should run away from another member of his family. Regrettably, many don’t want to associate with other members of this body that christ says is one. Bear in mind that no part of the Scripture can be used to separate a member of the body outside the dictate of the Scripture itself.

We are many parts, and one body means no part suffers without the others partaking in the suffering, trouble, or difficulty. Take, for instance, if your leg is in pain, the other parts of the body will and can not be comfortable.

The third leg in todays text calls our attention to the fact that the many members in this one body do not have the same office. This is one reason, simply attending church and occupying a seat is not enough.

As children of God, we are called to live out the teachings of CHRIST and be THE CHURCH wherever we go.

Let our faith guide our actions and interactions with others so that we may truly embody the love and grace of God in all aspects of our lives.

God did not just want us as born again. He wants we become a disciple. It is more than that. He also wants we to go further moving from disciples to discipler using our differences to better the body as body aggregate.

Imagine what the church will be if all were just ushers, no pastor, no choir

May God help us. May we not refuse, neglect, or fail to take the advantages conferred on us as members of this one body with different offices. Amen..
