Life Is Not A Rehearsal

Text: Matthew 10:16

“Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.”

Message

My father in law thought me a two in one lesson on humility and grace in a very simple language. He said, “Take your wrapper and tie it tightly round your waist. Everyone you see in the market are doing that to keep prying eyes from feasting and festering on their troubles.” In case you didn’t get it, he was saying, every person has a painful story to tell. Not everyone has a bandage for your wound, but life must continue. So what? Never give up.

A school bell that sounds like a disturbance at 8:am also sounds interesting at 2:pm. Isn’t it?

It is just a matter of time, so don’t envy or abuse anyone.

Not everyone walking fast and past you has an appointment. Some have running stomachs! Don’t let them pooh on you.

If a rose smells better than tomatoes, It doesn’t mean the rose can make a better stew. Each has its purpose and area of influence and honour.

Don’t try to look down on yourself, compare yourself to others, and determining your worth by the achievement of others. You may be weak now. It is not because you are lazy. On the contrary, you also have your strength, and now we are weak because you have been strong for a long time.

Look for your strength and deal with your weaknesses. You are as strong as your area of weakness. Turn it to a strength and build on it.

Remember, all animals that exist were in Noah’s ark, and a snail is one of those animals. If God could wait long enough for snails to enter Noah’s ark; His door of grace won’t close till you reach your expected position in life.

If yam, goat, lion, and serpent could coexist in Noah’s ark, never look down on yourself. You will survive the ups and downs of life unhurt, unscratched. Keep looking up.

Broken crayons are colours and can still colour. So, keep on pushing. You never can tell how close You are to your goals.

May the door of God’s grace never be closed against you.

Amen.

Our today tells us how harmful being in this world is. A sheep in the midst of wolves must watch and pray or end in the bellies of the wolves.

We as sheep in the midst of wolves are to live wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

In another word, ,”Life is not a rehearsal.” Don’t get knocked down. Keep moving. Don’t let your life remain all.motion, no movement.

You and I have just the life we are living now. No more, no less. We must not sit down with failures, neglect, and refusal to live life to the fullest.

In life, everything is temporary; nothing lasts. You’re on a journey. You’ve not reached your final destination yet. An eternal abode awaits-The hereafter. So, quit stressing over everything that happens.

Let the Almighty take over after you’ve done your best based on divine guidance.

Sometimes, help comes from the most unlikely sources and people. So, never underrate or look down on anyone because your helper and angel can come wearing rags, not bathed in gold.

Imam Abu Hamid Ghazali, “The first stage of sincerity is that your private and public life should be the same. So, don’t go and be tolerating nonsense and stupidity from people all in the name of no one knows tomorrow, gentility, being humble, or not knowing where your help will come from!

Money will soon tell you its other side. If your money can’t buy you joy, peace, marital bliss, give you a child of yours or bribe death, you need to be careful how you live and what you say to others. So before you tell anybody that he or she is not in your class or mate ask the mortuary attendant if he has special bed only for the rich, men and women of substance, ruling class or the nobles.

Believe in God and in yourself and daily take that first step and more steps towards your dream. Embrace the journey, the challenges, and the growth that comes with it. You are one step closer to making your vision a reality.

Remember that it is never too late to be successful. Age is never a barrier. It is just a numerical number of years.

Also, success has no expiry date, nor is it reserved for the young or the aged. Just embrace your life’s journey, let age be but a number, and let nothing hold you back from achieving your dreams. It’s your time to shine, so go ahead and claim your success!

It is indeed surprising that Afe Babalola began the journey to set up a university at 80, and yet he accomplished it. How? When he was 80, he made the decision to sell all his property and acquisitions in Lagos, Abuja, the United Kingdom, Ibadan, etc. He then returned to his place of birth, Ado Ekiti, acquired an expanse of land and began building the university to the admirable level it is today. In addition, he has also built a substantial teaching hospital equipped with rare and state-of-the-art equipment, where today intractable medical conditions are referred to from across the country. The university produces its own water, bread, fish, fruits, and poultry, and also supplies fresh produce to the town that hosts it.

Furthermore, it generates its power using gas and solar systems, completely independent of the national grid. The university has become a huge self-sustaining community, setting an inspiring example of sustainability and achievement.

Do not limit yourself. Life is not a rehearsal.
