You Will Soon Be Forgotten

Text: Ecclesiastes 12:1

“Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them”

Message

Some things that touched me of the emptiness and ironies of life happened recently at both my family and school proprietorship level.

At the family level, I asked of things I thought were so touchy and memorial as to note and qualified to be a not or ever forgotten event, and the answer I got was, “I cannot remember!”

The issue was one of the many good things my loving father did to my children.

I was told why they can not remember, “I don’t think we remember much or know the many things because we were too young then.”

Then it was done on me that even though my mother died when I was ten, I too vaguely if at all remember any more her physical features in detail outside her portrait on the wall!

If I in the first generation cannot remember why will I be expecting the second generation to remember the deeds of my father to details.

Thanks, Goodness, one said, though I no longer have his details,” I remembered that “All I know of Psalms, Proverbs and Ecclesiastes was imprinted on my brain and taught me by my grandfather!”

I also had an argument with my wife on the order or what precisely happened at a particular time I’m our marriage and family journey! Familiar, you said?

If we in the ordinary are so soon in disputing people, events, times, and places on matters that are so material to us and most of which we were character in the act and Scene how much more those who were not?

Another was me entering the classroom and asking how many students have heard of the name of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Alhaji Shehu Shagari, Tarawa  Dr Chuba Okadigbo to which many responded on the note that we saw them in textbooks! These were those mighty men of the immediate past, yet people now have faint memories of them.

These points to the fact that not only are we going to be forgotten as we did of others, events, places, times, and things and should endeavour to leave behind good names and deeds for the little period that we will luckily be remembered.

We should remember that life is transient, short and brutish.

Bear in mind that you are more than you think you are and that it is easy to become discouraged or doubt your abilities becauseof your circumstances, but no comdition is permanent.

It is important to remember your worth and potential. Never underestimate yourself. Always strive to be the best version of yourself while here on earth.

Lets remember that our attitude towards a situation can greatly influence the outcome and that positive attitude and mindset can help us overcome challenges, whereas a negative attitude can lead to failure or despair. Therefore, it’s important to cultivate a positive attitude, even in tough situations, for success and happiness.

Finally beware of toxic relationship. They drain you emotionally, mentally, physically and can take a toll on your mental and physical health.

It is important to be aware of the signs of a toxic relationship and take immediate steps to end it or seek professional help.

Remember, you deserve to be in a healthy and positive relationship that brings out the best in you.

St. Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

May God help you
