Don’t Remain Yesterday’s Container

Text: 2 Corinthians 5:18

“And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;”

Message

The past is important but it is not as important as today and the future that we should hope, trust and confidently believe God for.

The past is complete and concluded. Today is ongoing currency in your hand. Tomorrow is a promissory note. Invest today wisely so that you earn gold returns tomorrow.

The past is a record. Draw valuable lessons from it, and move on, not letting it possess you.

To allow the past to possess you is to live in the past. It is the past making you its container. That’s one of the easiest, gravest, and regretful ways to lose the perfect peace of God.

To live in the past is to remain the past. God has not called us into the ministry of the past. God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the sole ministry of reconciliation.

Old things have passed away” is a phrase from the Bible that appears in 2 Corinthians 5:17, which reads, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

In rephrase, the Bible is saying, say it, mean it, work, and walk out with the mentality of, “I am not yesterday’s container.”

The past is an illusion. It is gone. Thrash it. It is for the dunghill, and to it, it shall and must go and be consigned. To do otherwise is to make your life becomes an expired product in a well packaged container!

Every time you think of the good old days, instead of enjoying today and using it to prepare for the tomorrow you desires, you marry the package instead of studying today’s character, for, and in preparation for your glorious future.

Embrace each of today’s moments as a stepping stone to your success.

Remember, your stay in wilderness or Egypt may have been long and painfully recorded in generations, but no problem or challenge is permitted to last forever.

Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. Each night is the messenger’s preparation of the venue for the angelic voice from heaven in the wilderness of life, announcing the arrival and identity of  God’s  Beloved Son, in whom He is well pleased.

So, arise, shine, and make today your masterpiece, as your light must shine as the glory of the Lord is risen upon You!

The past is gone. It is history. Learn from it, so you don’t repeat it, and in particular, it’s ugly sides.

Remember that this Your past is an expired product. Dump it, and don’t ever allow it to use you as its package container! That will be dangerous, foolish, and stupid.

You will surely succeed.

You won’t miss it in Jesus’ name.

God first and last.

Amen.
