Imitators Of The Powers Of The Holy Spirit (Part 2)
Text: Matthew 28:18
“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”
Message
Jesus himself said in St. Matthew 28:18, “….All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” This means no power exists outside Him. So any power not found in Christ Jesus is at its very best a very crude imitation of the power of the Holy Spirit.
Also, power outcomes found and rooted in the traditions, and cultures of men are bare imitations of the powers of the Holy Spirit. These involves religious believes anchored on culture and her mysteries, genealogy, superstitions, fables, magics, paganistic sacrifices, and rituals. Any of such powers and their testimonies are not rooted and found in the word of God, and are opposed to the real power! Truth is, “If the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (Psalm 11:3). You cannot build anything on nothing.
Imitating powers includes powers arising from disbelief, unbelieves, unteacheability and ignorance. These are pollutants and destroyers of the soul. They provide empheral but false and unenduring alternatives to God’s real power. They make you believe and walk outside the dictates of the scripture. They available the moment and exposes you to the process and her outcome.
Imitating powers includes powers derived from human senses. These type of powers focuse on man, self, human logic, reasons, arguments etc. It sometimes clothes itself as supernatural but remove the vail and you will see how independent from the Holy Spirit that it is. On these Bro. Gbile Akanni said, “A gospel that shifts the focus from Christ to man’s ability is poison.”
May God deliver and heal us from the consequences of our association, covenants, and agreement made with imitating powers. Amen
