Did Jesus Taught You That?
Text: Matthew 7:16
“By their fruits you shall know them.”
Message
Paul wrote to Timothy, one of end time attitude and take on. “They will gather teachers who tell them what their itching ears want to hear.” (2 Timothy 4:3).
But according to Matthew 7:16,
“By their fruits you shall know them.”
For, “A gospel that shifts the focus from Christ to man’s ability is poison”, says, Bro. Gbile Akanni.
Are you; “naming your seed”, “asking for “debt‑breaking anointing”, “using money as proof of your spirituality” or “manipulating people with faith formulas for personal gain?”
Kenneth Higgins in his book, “The Midas Touch: A Balanced Approach to Biblical Prosperity,” (2000), admonished all to remember that even, “Drug traffickers have money too.” and that, “Wealth is not a sign of spirituality.”
Bro Gbike Akanni admonished we run away from “poison.” Because poison is not always bitter. Sometimes it is sweet, exciting and motivational but highly disastrous and kills.
There is nothing called small poison. Poison is poison. Scripture says:
“A little leaven leavens the whole lump” (Galatians 5:9)
Truth is, “If the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (Psalm 11:3).
Beloved, don’t continue to build your life on teachings that even the author later corrected before he died or
drink from a stream that the writer himself admitted had gone into extremes.
“If the foundation is not Christ, the message, no matter how exciting, will still poison the soul.”
Be careful.
Prayers
- Teachings that came from polluted sources in my life, expired now.
- Thoughts and rendering of metaphysics (mind‑power, positive confession, metaphysical healing), imitating God in me die and are destroyed now.
- I uproot every unapostolic foundation not found in Christ from my life.
- Father, If the root is polluted, the fruit cannot be pure, cleanse my root with the ressurection power of Jesus now.
- Every teaching that produced excitement, not transformation in my life expired.
- Spirit of more declarations, less devotion, die in my life now.
- More “I am,” less “He is”, exit my life now.
- Spirit of more miracles, less holiness loose your hold upon my life now.
- More of self-confidence, less of holiness and consecration, your time is up, jump out from my life now.
- More Ministries results, less repentance, vacate from my calling now.
