WHAT CAN I GIVE?
Text: Acts 20:35
“It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
Message:
A river is known by its flow. It receives water, but it does not keep everything to itself.
This is a picture of the Christian life. Jesus said: “Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” — John 7:38
God does not intend for everything He puts into us to end with us. What can you give?
You can give:
Your time — serve someone.
Your knowledge — teach someone.
Your skills — solve a problem.
Your encouragement — strengthen someone.
Your love — care for someone.
Your forgiveness — release someone from your bitterness.
Your prayers — intercede for others.
Your opportunities — help someone gain access.
Your resources — support God’s work and genuine needs.
Your testimony — tell someone what God has done.
Giving is therefore much bigger than money. A person can be financially poor and still be extremely generous.
A teacher can give knowledge.
A parent can give guidance.
A young person can give service.
A leader can give opportunities.
A Christian can give hope.
If God stopped giving you new blessings today, how much of what He has already given you would still be flowing to other people?
What God puts in your hands is not necessarily meant to end in your hands.
Genesis 12:2 says: “I will bless thee… and thou shalt be a blessing.”
Today, deliberately bless three people:
Encourage one person.
Help one person.
Give something—time, knowledge, resources or service—to someone who needs it.
Also identify one way you can support God’s work this week.
Prayer
Lord, make me a channel of Your blessings.
Let my knowledge, time, resources, gifts and influence bring glory to You and benefit others.
Teach me to give with humility, love and wisdom.
May my life never become a container in which Your blessings stop, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
