Call upon me in the day of trouble
Text: Psalms 50:15
“And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.”
Message
It can be very easy to feel God is far removed and away when we are struggling with any variety of troubles. But Psalm 46:1 says “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
God is a “present” help, meaning He is in the midst of the situation we are facing.
Since God is “a very present help in times of trouble,” there is no need for us to worry or fear when our situation seems dim. Our helper says to us, “Be still and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10a). He invites us to rest in the knowledge that he is with us and will not let us down.
God helps by giving refuge in the midst of battles and trials. He is the believers’ safe place, always ready to strengthen them when they feel weak or afraid.
Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world (John 16:33).
Philippians 4:6-7: Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
So long there is a man to call, there is a God to answer.
In Jeremiah 33:3, God says, “Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.”
Also, in Psalms 91:15, God says, “Call me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad times; I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party.”
“1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”
