Obedience of Instruction

Text: 1 Samuel 15:11, 22-23

11. “I greatly regret that I have set up Saul as king, for he has turned back from following Me, and has not performed My commandments.” And it grieved Samuel, and he cried out to the Lord all night.

22. So Samuel said:

“Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,

And to heed than the fat of rams.

23. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He also has rejected you from being king.”

Message

Recently, I badly wanted to bless and make a difference in someone’s life and family. I thrice sent to the person to call me but that was not to be. What I got in response is that the person phone cannot make the type of call that I requested, as if another’s phone cannot be used to take a call! In like manner many of us withstand instruction only to remain at the altar of unending prayers when in truth God has long ago given us our desires but the Prince of Persia in us has withstood  our guarding angel and derided Angel Micheal due to stubbornness, disobedience and rebellion.

Truth is there is always what to be, before what to become!

Instructions is good but useless when not obeyed. It is better to obey instruction.

Yes, instructions precedes obedience but it is obedience of instruction that will move one from prayers to testimony and from promise to manifestation.

What instruction has God given you recently that you have not obeyed?

It may sound simple but your next level is tied to that instruction, obey instantly.

He may tell you to sow a seed, forgive someone, spend time reading your Bible, pay your Tithe.

Whatever it is, do it promptly!

Remember Jesus was crucified on His cross. You too must be crucified on your cross of obedience of instruction.

Beloved, the sea doesn’t part because a man stretched out a rod (try it at bar beach or Jabi lake).

God wanted to part the red sea, He asked Moses to stretch out his rod and his hand.

Walls don’t crumble because a group of people shouted, water doesn’t turn to wine because you filled a bowl and served it!

God wanted to bring down the walls of Jericho which were so thick that there were roads in the walls, God asked the children of Israel to shout!

Jesus wanted to turn water into wine, He asked the servants at the marriage feast to fill a bowl with water and serve it!

These miracles happened because of obedience of INSTRUCTIONS!

May thy Lord God, help us to obey him always from now.

May our disobedient character not destroy our virtue and glory.

Amen
