The Yoke of Esaul
Text: Genesis 25:26
“Afterward his brother came out, and his hand took hold of Esau’s heel; so his name was called Jacob. Isaac was sixty years old when he bore them.”
Message
An understanding of Esaul’s yoke will let you know and understand why you must pray fervently and without ceasing so that you can move “From Yoke to Dominion”.
Esau’s yoke began from birth when Jacob, right from inside their mother’s womb held on to Esaul’s heel! Why did Jacob did that to Esaul? What’s the issue? Where was Esaul going that Jacob his twin brother will not have that achieved?
Genesis 25:26 puts it this way: “And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau’s heel; and his name was called Jacob:….”
One may ask Jacob; Is each stars, not starring in their respective very own life? Is everything Jacob dream, think, speak and surround himself with including Esaul not out to assist Jacob in his realization of his most beautiful possibilities and vice-versa? Are both brothers not all special, uniquely standing apart, to stand strong as one, living in each other? Is Jacob not to live in Esaul and Esaul live in Jacob? There ought to be no gap, and no distance between them as they are so deeply interconnected and ordinarily should have no option but to love one another? But that was not to be as later event showed.
Now, you are having goose pimples as to what happened between Esaul and Jacob, rightly is the same case with you! The household wickedness and enemies that you are battling are members of your very family, home and friends.
Come to think of it, what could Esaul have done to Jacob in the womb? Was the war not above Esaul’s age and experience?
Gracious Lord, Jacob helped by their mother, cunningly took Esaul’s blessing and inheritance of first born. Pronto the war that is still ranging and ravaging in the middle East to this day began!
Let’s stop here and sum up Esaul’s yoke: unfriendly friends, household wickedness, wars from within, wars older than age and experiences, crack wall wars, familiar family spirit, stagnation, go slow, hold up, limitation, almost there not there, flesh, blood and spirit wars, disfavor, inheritance denials, dishonor, gluttony etc.
May God deliver, save, repair and restore us from them all in Jesus Name.
