Comparing Your Pace With That Of Others
Text: 2 Corinthians 10:12
“For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.”
Message
The natural human tendency is to compare ourselves with others, close marking in pace, and measure success on the basis of the number of paces achieved. We forget that life is not a race as to make the number and frequency of pace a deciding factor.
Life is not a pace matter but a journey. The day you wake up is the beginning of your day.
Life may talk of time and season, but God is in control of both. Season, which is in paces, may say it is over, but time will say now God, your father has come for you and is your time!
Beloved, don’t again compare your pace to that of others. Rather, focus on your own time and direction and keep moving. Remember that every step forward, no matter how small, is a step closer to your goal. Scientists may say that the higher you go, the cooler it becomes. But my experiences show that instead of being cooler, it rather many times gets hotter!
Life will knock you out seven times seven times, but as long as you are still breathing, nothing is impossible for the master potter to make out of you.
It follows that when life knocks you down, you need not worry, be sad, or give up on yourself. Generals are identified not just by their prized laurel but sometimes the scars.
Joseph rose each time. You will rise again, but remember that it is sometimes up to you to rise again. Don’t wait for human pity. They don’t have the medicine for your ailment, and if they do, they will give you, that is, if they will, the left over!
Don’t let the darkness in that valley consume you. Look up unto the hill. You will certainly find the light.
Don’t give up. The game is not yet over. Hold on to hope, and keep moving forward.
You are a phoenix rising from the ashes.
You will surely succeed.
Amen.
