Learn How To Choose Your Friends
Text: Proverbs 25:19
“Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.”
Message
Saint Basil said, “A tree is known by its fruit; a man by his deeds.” He went further to say that, “A good seed is never lost; he who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.”
I have no problem with the first part but while not saying doing good is totally bad, I have plenty of reservations with his second assertion. I therefore recommend you learn how to choose your Friends.
You heard me right. You choose your friend and your friends choose their friends. That you choose someone as you friend does not make him your friend!
Many do not remember that they can grow without destroying others. They don’t just know that dreams can be fulfilled without sabotaging others. Many do not feel that nobody must go down, shamed or embarrassed for them to rise or for their smile to be sustained.
While others are rising, you can also rise. Finding satisfaction in the pain of others will never bring you true happiness as what you wish others is a prayer for yourself.
Life itself require we be each others good fire that genuinely lights up others, not one that ruins the joy, goodwill, and expectation of others, takes delight in causing pain or sponsoring the tears of another.
But the fact that you don’t use your position in authority to punish or frustrate others, for you never can tell what the future holds tomorrow is no guarantee that others shares your thoughts. SO, LEARN HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR FRIENDS.
People you served might not serve you, people you loved might not love you, people you helped might gang up to pull you down and people you stand for might stand against you. But always remember that anything you do for humanity is never a waste and God that sees everything has a way to reward and compensate all the Good things you did for others.
Do not regret any good deed whether it is appreciated or not.
Do good always and Leave the rest to God.
But be wise… Close friends with snake’s venom are everywhere…!
My prayers for you are:
No matter the machinations of men, By the greatness of His power, God will catapult you to greater heights (Is 61:7).
The end shall come to powers and personalities robbing you of favor.
Your life shall provoke good things in Jesus name. Amen.
