Is Your Heaven In Jeopardy?
Text: Song of Solomon 2:15
“Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines”
Message
As a disciple of Christ Jesus, I believe among others that this world is not my own, that I’m on leave on earth-a pilgrim journey to Heaven.
So, every time I read Song of Solomon 2:15 -“Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines”, I am reminded of that huge vine and its little destroyer. The lesson is, of course, that little, seemingly insignificant things can cause grossly disproportionate damage.
The “little foxes” refer to whatever we permit to eat off the roots of grace and the fruit of the Spirit from our lives. The very little things we pay no attention but are putting our making heaven in jeopardy.
There are many ways to know you are not heaven bound. These includes not calling sin by it’s name.
Many of us thinks of sin as sin when it is big. We forget that just as there is no small decision or way in life so is no small sin. Stop rationalizing. Sin is sin and every vote for sin is your heaven in jeopardy.
Are you grieving the Holy Spirit?
Are you given to the lost of the eyes, flesh and the pride of life?
Have you just become a church goer, a back slider or sinner?
Have you declared yourself God’s enemy, his works and servant?
Are you more comfortable keeping company with the children of the world, forsaking fellowship with fellow believer?
Has reading the Bible, hearing the word of God, giving God praises, thanksgiving and worship become not interesting or a burden to you?
Is it that there is now no difference between you and sinners and back sliders?
Let me stop here for the list is endless!
Withdraw your feet. Run to the House of Refuge. Jesus is calling you now. You may not have grace all the time.
No matter how prodigal you have been, Jesus is calling you. Jesus is coming soon.
Receive grace not to miss heaven with Jesus. The trumpet shall sound when we least expect.
Jesus you lover is calling you.
Grace.
