(A Round The Year Daily Devotional)

Day 1

What’s Your Success Definition?

Text: Hebrews 12:17

“For you know that afterward, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it diligently with tears.”

 Message

A 78-year-old man collapsed and was rushed to hospital.  He was given oxygen to support him for 24 hours.  After a while, he was better.  So, the doctor gave him his bill of N500,000, and when he saw the bill, he started crying.

The doctor told him not to cry because of the bill.  But the man said, “I’m not crying because of money, I can pay all the money, I’m crying because for only 24 hours of oxygen use, I have to pay N500,000, but  I have been breathing the air of God for 78 years, I never pay anything, do you know how much I owe him?

“The doctor lowered his head and burst into tears”

Now, to you reading this, you breathe air free from God without any price to pay for years!

Stop complaining of what you don’t have and thank God for what you have, even those things that you don’t deserve.

Stop complaining of what you said God has not done and prayers He has not answered in spite of your alleged rigorous prayers. Instead thank God for known and unknown things that He has done including those you don’t justly deserve.

Thank God for prayers answered and for answered to prayers others made on your behalf, over-answered prayers and the answers you received out of His loving-kindness, mercies, compassion and benevolence.

Please take time now and prayerfully thank God for the free services in your life.Though Hebrew 12 is on the race of faith, our today’s passage from the chapter centered on Esaul’s loss of his blessings to Jacob. Nevertheless both were successful in their respective ways!
Success is a harlot’s rat race. It has no universally agreed definition. This difference as to what success is made Cain killed his brother Abel though what separated each person’s offering to God is, “respected”, a kind of “more accepted”, and not that one was “utterly disrespected”, “not accepted” or ‘rejected” (Genesis 4).
A look at Noah’s Ark revealed in Genesis 6 that all animals and birds in existence of a male and a female of their respective kinds made it at their different times both to and out of the Ark successful. But wait a minute at what speed was the ant and the snail compared to the deer, dog, lion and the eagle?
So, don’t judge yourself by others definition of what success is for you are who you are with your tailor made different situation and circumstance. Moreover where and in areas you think others have failed is where your success started and vice versa the other person.
Truth is there are things others have that you don’t have but you also have what your next neighbour does not have inspite of his intense prayers and fasting and even loyalty to God which are in parameters better than your offerings.
Beloved each time you are grumbling remember that wittiness is required to kill a mosquitoes perching on a man’s scrotum just as wisdom is required to define what is success.
Truth is we all want to excel in life. We forget that the same boiling water that hardens the egg, softens the potato. So is life outcome or success not dependant on what you passed or are passing through but by your reaction to your situations and circumstances.
Truth is, no one would tell you the story. Just bear in mind that the white sputum you see does not say there is no red in the blood.
Some things you copy are problems people are trying to solve. So don’t use another’s medicine for your own ailment. Each sickness has its medicine and expiry date. WHATEVER YOUR CONDITION NO BE YOU CARRY LAST. VALUE WHAT YOU HAVE AND APPRECIATE IT.
Life is about quality relationship. So enjoy the journey of life; see and accept others as they are for every person in your life is important. Like a towel treat every person that are part of your towel nicely because the part that wipes your buttocks today will wipe your face tomorrow.
All the same becarefull of the friends you keep. Many times you look back at girls and boys you spent money on, rather than send it to your parents, and you realise witchcraft is real. So don’t kill yourself, take lesson learnt and move ahead. Remember that failure is not eternity bus stop. All have failed at one time or the other or in something. Turn the table and you will see that failure is lesson in how better to do it next time.
Also, becareful who is your mentor or adviser as Cigarette is a pinch of tobacco rolled in a piece of paper with fire on one end and a fool on the other end.
On sex and sexuality, remember that no African girl will choose six pack over six cars.. So stop going to the gym and go to work for a little sleep or slumber is a mono-direction leading to eternal poverty.
If Adam and Eve were Chinese we would have been in paradise because they would have ignored the apple and eaten thè snake. So don’t live like the monkey picking a banana in place of a sack of gold.

Conclusion

You are worth than you think, so don’t sell your destiny for a pot of porridge.
God bless us
