2026 Alone With God<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CLOTHED WITH THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Text: <\/em>Ephesians 6:11<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MESSAGE<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every believer is enlisted in a spiritual battle, whether they acknowledge it or not. Paul makes this clear in Ephesians 6:12: “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” The nature of this warfare demands spiritual equipment\u2014not natural strength, not human strategy, but divine armor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The instruction to “put on” implies deliberate action. The armor of God is provided, but it must be personally appropriated. Salvation clothes the spirit; the armor clothes the believer for battle. Many Christians are saved but unequipped, which is why they are repeatedly overwhelmed by attacks they were never meant to lose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paul lists six pieces of armor in Ephesians 6:14\u201317 (NKJV): “Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belt of Truth, The belt held the Roman soldier’s garment together, giving freedom of movement. Truth functions the same way spiritually\u2014it holds every other virtue in place. Without truth, righteousness becomes self-righteousness, and faith becomes presumption. A believer girded with truth cannot easily be deceived, because deception only succeeds where truth is loose or absent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Breastplate of Righteousness This piece protected vital organs\u2014the heart. Righteousness, both imputed through Christ and lived out daily, guards the believer’s heart from condemnation and accusation. Satan’s primary weapon against many Christians is guilt. The breastplate of righteousness silences that accusation by anchoring identity in Christ’s finished work, not personal performance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feet Shod with the Gospel of Peace Roman soldiers wore sandals designed for firm footing in battle. Spiritually, this represents readiness and stability. A believer rooted in the peace of the gospel is not easily destabilized by chaos or conflict. Peace becomes the ground on which the believer stands and advances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Shield of Faith Paul describes this as able to “quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one.” Fiery darts represent sudden, targeted attacks\u2014doubt, fear, temptation, discouragement. Faith does not merely resist these attacks; it extinguishes them before they take root. The shield was also large enough for soldiers to stand together, suggesting that corporate faith strengthens individual defense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Helmet of Salvation The mind is a primary battlefield, as already emphasized in Romans 12:2. The helmet protects the head\u2014thought life, perspective, and identity. Salvation secures not just eternal destiny but present mental protection. A believer who is unsure of their salvation is vulnerable to confusion and fear; assurance produces mental stability in warfare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sword of the Spirit This is the only offensive weapon listed\u2014the Word of God. Jesus modeled its use in Luke 4 when confronting temptation, responding each time with “It is written.” The sword is not decorative; it is active and effective only when spoken and applied. A believer who does not know the Word carries an empty sheath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Paul concludes this passage with a call to prayer in Ephesians 6:18 (NKJV): “praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prayer is not a seventh piece of armor\u2014it is the atmosphere in which the armor functions. Without prayer, the armor remains theoretical. Watchfulness and perseverance in prayer keep the believer alert to the enemy’s strategies and connected to divine strength.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is significant that Paul does not instruct believers to fight for victory, but to “stand” in it\u2014repeated four times in verses 11\u201314. The battle’s outcome was already secured at the cross (Colossians 2:15). The armor is not for achieving victory but for maintaining position in a victory already won.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A believer clothed in the whole armor of God is not immune to attack, but they are protected from defeat. Every piece addresses a specific vulnerability, and together they form complete covering\u2014no gaps left exposed to the enemy’s schemes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      St. Matthew 10:19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. St. Matthew 10:20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Loneliness because you belong to Jesus Christ is the price you pay to build yourself up, and the greatest thing you can build is yourself in Him, with you decreasing and Him increasing in your life that His glory in you may be made manifest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Truth is, “The mind does not fear the truth first. It fears the life the truth will demand. That is why denial feels calm. It postpones a decision, not a consequence.” No wonder we get the wages of sin, which is death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Believers should understand that sometimes our prayers are answered but the answer is No!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      In other word, “You cannot think your way into becoming the person only your actions can introduce. When the storm beats the tree, many birds fly away\u2014but the one that remains through the thunder is the one that truly calls it home.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Is sin not attractive to you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Sin keeps inviting you, “Go as far as you can see; when you get there, you\u2019ll be able to see further, for you are a magnet for success and opportunities.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Beloved, all that ends in this world. You will soon discovered, albeit too late that all that gilliters are not gold, and that vanity upon vanity, is a life lived without Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Remember that one day you will wake up and do things for the last time without knowing it\u2019s the last time. The sleep or that going out or coming in, eating, fighting, quarrelling etc will look normal, yet will be the last time! Nothing extra ordinary except that you would have said good night on the earthly side and find yourself woke up on the otherside of the terrestrial. There you have welcome to your eternity in heaven or hell, on the right or left side of Jesus who you obeyed or betrayed, condemned, rejected and ignored when you had the opportunity to accept on earth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Unfortunately, you cannot and have not the luxury of a repeat journey! Then you will remember the saying that, “Most betrayals begin long before trust is broken. They begin the day curiosity ends. The moment someone believes they no longer need to understand you, they begin speaking to a memory instead of a person.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Accept and follow Jesus now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
