DAY 3 of 2026 Alone With God<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE DEFEAT OF SATAN AT CALVARY: A DISARMED ENEMY AND AN ESTABLISHED VICTORY<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Text: Hebrews 2:14\u201315 <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cInasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.\u201d

MESSAG<\/em>E<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cross of Jesus Christ was not only a place of atonement for sin; it was also a decisive confrontation with the kingdom of darkness. Many believers focus only on forgiveness, but the work of Christ goes further: it includes the destruction of the devil\u2019s authority over humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hebrews 2:14 declares that Jesus took on flesh and blood so that \u201cthrough death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil.\u201d This is one of the clearest explanations of spiritual warfare in the New Testament. The destruction mentioned here does not refer to the annihilation of Satan\u2019s existence, but to the breaking of his legal power over redeemed humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before the cross, Satan operated through the fear of death. Sin created separation from God, and that separation gave the enemy legal access to accuse and oppress humanity. But at Calvary, Jesus entered death itself and dismantled its authority from within.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is why Colossians 2:14\u201315 (NKJV) declares: \u201chaving wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us\u2026 And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The word \u201cdisarmed\u201d is critical. It means stripped of weapons, authority, and legal advantage. The enemy is no longer operating from a position of authority over those who are in Christ. He may still attempt deception, intimidation, and accusation, but his legal right has been revoked at the cross.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A powerful illustration of this truth is found in the confrontation between David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17). Goliath represented an intimidating force that Israel feared for forty days. But when David arrived, he did not see an invincible giant; he saw an uncircumcised enemy defying the covenant of God. David\u2019s confidence was not in his skill but in the name of the Lord of hosts. The battle ended not because Goliath became weaker, but because covenant authority was activated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the same way, Calvary is the activation of covenant victory for every believer. The cross did not reduce Satan\u2019s intention to destroy; it removed his authority to succeed against those in Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus Himself confirmed this victory in John 12:31 (NKJV): \u201cNow is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.\u201d The phrase \u201ccast out\u201d indicates removal from position. The devil is no longer in a governing role over the redeemed. He operates now through deception, not authority; suggestion, not jurisdiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is why spiritual understanding is essential. Hosea 4:6 (NKJV) says:
\u201cMy people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.\u201d Ignorance of Christ\u2019s victory produces unnecessary fear. Revelation of Christ\u2019s victory produces confident resistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After His resurrection, Jesus declared in Matthew 28:18 (NKJV): \u201cAll authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.\u201d Notice carefully: all authority. Not partial authority. Not temporary authority. Total authority. And this authority has been shared with His body, the Church, as Luke 10:19 confirms: \u201cBehold, I give you the authority\u2026 over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.\u201d
This means believers are not victims of spiritual forces; they are carriers of delegated authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, many believers still respond to spiritual opposition with fear instead of authority. Fear is often a sign that revelation is still incomplete. When the truth of the cross is fully embraced, fear loses its foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fear of death mentioned in Hebrews 2:15 is not only physical death, but every form of intimidation that arises from separation consciousness. Christ has released us from that bondage. This means no believer should live under constant dread of curses, oppression, or demonic manipulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A clear New Testament example is found in Acts 16, when Paul and Silas were imprisoned. Despite chains and confinement, they did not respond as defeated men. Instead, they prayed and sang hymns. Their external situation did not define their internal authority. Suddenly, there was an earthquake, prison doors opened, and chains were broken. This was not just deliverance; it was the expression of victory already secured in Christ.
Spiritual victory is not always loud; it is often consistent confidence in what Christ has already done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even in personal struggles, the believer must learn to interpret circumstances through the lens of Calvary. The cross is the final interpretation of every spiritual battle. If Christ disarmed principalities and powers, then no believer should live intimidated by them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This does not mean the absence of conflict, but the absence of uncertainty. We do not fight to see if we will win; we stand because victory has already been established.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ephesians 6:11 (NKJV) says: \u201cPut on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.\u201d
Notice the instruction is to stand, not to achieve victory. Standing is the posture of someone who knows the outcome is already settled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The defeat of Satan at Calvary is not a theory; it is a historical and spiritual reality. The cross marked the turning point of all creation. What was once under oppression has now been brought under Christ\u2019s authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, the believer\u2019s responsibility is not to fear the enemy, but to enforce the victory of Christ through faith, obedience, prayer, and the Word of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      St. Matthew 10:19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. St. Matthew 10:20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Loneliness because you belong to Jesus Christ is the price you pay to build yourself up, and the greatest thing you can build is yourself in Him, with you decreasing and Him increasing in your life that His glory in you may be made manifest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Truth is, “The mind does not fear the truth first. It fears the life the truth will demand. That is why denial feels calm. It postpones a decision, not a consequence.” No wonder we get the wages of sin, which is death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Believers should understand that sometimes our prayers are answered but the answer is No!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      In other word, “You cannot think your way into becoming the person only your actions can introduce. When the storm beats the tree, many birds fly away\u2014but the one that remains through the thunder is the one that truly calls it home.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Is sin not attractive to you?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Sin keeps inviting you, “Go as far as you can see; when you get there, you\u2019ll be able to see further, for you are a magnet for success and opportunities.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Beloved, all that ends in this world. You will soon discovered, albeit too late that all that gilliters are not gold, and that vanity upon vanity, is a life lived without Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Remember that one day you will wake up and do things for the last time without knowing it\u2019s the last time. The sleep or that going out or coming in, eating, fighting, quarrelling etc will look normal, yet will be the last time! Nothing extra ordinary except that you would have said good night on the earthly side and find yourself woke up on the otherside of the terrestrial. There you have welcome to your eternity in heaven or hell, on the right or left side of Jesus who you obeyed or betrayed, condemned, rejected and ignored when you had the opportunity to accept on earth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Unfortunately, you cannot and have not the luxury of a repeat journey! Then you will remember the saying that, “Most betrayals begin long before trust is broken. They begin the day curiosity ends. The moment someone believes they no longer need to understand you, they begin speaking to a memory instead of a person.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      Accept and follow Jesus now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
