It doesn\u2019t matter<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Text: Hebrews 12:17<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

A wise man wrote, “Every lie you tell yourself demands another To protect it. Truth is heavy once. Deception Is heavy forever.” This quote encapsulates the need for circumspection in all that we do or fails to do. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Truth is we have a choice. That’s is our discretion, and excercise of volition by divine investment in men. But when it comes to consequences it is outside man’s control. You will reap what you sow. This is why in matters of life, lifestyle, Christian service and worship, we must not resort to pragmatism and doing things as we see fit or in sync with the popular winds. That others are doing it or that is popular does not make it right. At best it is a contempt in the face of the Almighty which can incure summary trial and judgment as was with Gehazi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It follows that we must pay attention to detail and ensure we build according to the divine pattern spelt out in God\u2019s word. For instance not honouring your father and mother have consequences just as not honouring the Sabbath as a day of worship and rest from the labour of the week is deception of self. If you failed to honour God on Sunday, get ready for Dishonour in your next six days!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, those who gloss over many things and assure themselves that \u201cit doesn\u2019t matter\u201d will eventually discover to their disappointment that God is interested in details, and the life that is lived on, “It matters.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God measures our obedience by the \u201clittle things\u201d He demands which we must obey and never say that it does not matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Genesis 25:32 of the Bible.Esau says,”What good is the birthright to me?” (or “What profit shall the birthright do to me?” This is when he returns home starving from the fields and asks Jacob for a bowl of lentil stew. Jacob tells him he will only give him the food if Esau sells him his birthright (the special inheritance and spiritual leadership belonging to the firstborn). Esau, valuing the immediate satisfaction of his hunger over his future spiritual and material inheritance, agrees to the trade. The consequence is according to the Bible, Esau wept bitterly, but he did so after he lost his patriarchal blessing. While he originally cried out in anguish over the stolen blessing, the New Testament confirms that he deeply regretted losing both the blessing and his birthright, seeking to regain them with tears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hebrews 12:16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.
Hebrews 12:17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the verses Esau is used as a cautionary tale of a “godless person” who traded a priceless spiritual inheritance for a single meal. The passage notes that later, when he wanted to inherit the blessing, he was rejected and found no opportunity for repentance, even though he sought it with tears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beloved, you can only be virgin once. If unlawfully broken, it is gone for good. So it is if you keep leaving on, “It does not matter.” You will not loss your divine inheritance in Jesus name<\/p>\n\n\n\n
