What Is Peace? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Text: John 14:26\u201327<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Peace is a state of inner tranquillity, harmony, and freedom from violence and fear.<\/p>\n Peace also refer to a sense of security and order within self and among persons, members of a community or group of communities, or a period of mutual agreement to cease fire and seek each other wellbeing between or among governments or nations.<\/p>\n Peace is freedom from disturbance. It is a state or period in which there is no war or a war has ended. This is why the wise says, “Every war is an invitation to peace.”<\/p>\n Peace is a stress-free state of security and calmness that comes when there’s no fighting or war, everything coexisting in perfect harmony and freedom.<\/p>\n Peace means societal friendship and harmony in the absence of hostility and violence. In a social sense, peace is commonly used to mean a lack of conflict (such as war) and freedom from fear of violence between individuals or groups.<\/p>\n In our war-torn world, where humans continued to reject and fight the Prince of Peace, it seems like there’s not nearly enough peace or ever will be peace.<\/p>\n Peace can be big or small, long, medium or short time, seen in entire or part of a countries for a brief moment.<\/p>\n Most importantly, peace can be perfect or imperfect. Only the peace of God is perfect. God gives his peace not as the world gives.<\/p>\n According to Galtung, Johan, peace can be psychological or behavioural.<\/p>\n The erudite author wrote, “Psychological peace” (such as peaceful thinking and emotions) is less well-defined, yet perhaps a necessary precursor to establishing “behavioural peace.”<\/p>\n He went on, “Peaceful behaviour sometimes results from a “peaceful inner disposition.”<\/p>\n He added, “It has been argued by some that inner qualities such as tranquility, patience, respect, compassion, kindness, self-control, courage, moderation, forgiveness, equanimity, and the ability to see the big picture can promote peace within an individual, regardless of the external circumstances of their life (Galtung, Johan (31 July 1996).
