Don’t Take The Bait!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Text: Proverbs 1:10

“My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent.”
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Message<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I got this topic from a bank. The Bank wrote, “Beware of unsolicited phone calls and SMS messages from fraudsters claiming to be staff of the bank. These scams are on the rise and intend to get you to part with your sensitive banking information”.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

It went further, “Here’s how a few of them work:…”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

And concluded, “Remember, we will never call, email, or send you SMS messages\/social media chats requesting sensitive banking details such as OTPs, passwords, PINs, card details, etc. If something looks suspicious, please send an email to…. You can also dial ……with any phone number to block your account anytime.”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

“To learn more about how to keep your account details safe, please visit here….”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

“Thank you for choosing…”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Then I remembered a friend early in the day sent a post that goes thus;<\/p>\n

“IF\u00a0 YOU CROSS THE NORTH KOREAN\u00a0 BORDER ILLEGALLY\u00a0 YOU GET 12 YEARS HARD\u00a0 LABOUR.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

IF\u00a0 YOU CROSS THE IRANIAN\u00a0 BORDER ILLEGALLY\u00a0 YOU ARE DETAINED INDEFINITELY.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

IF\u00a0 YOU CROSS THE AFGHAN\u00a0 BORDER ILLEGALLY,\u00a0 YOU GET SHOT.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

IF\u00a0 YOU CROSS THE SAUDI ARABIAN\u00a0 BORDER ILLEGALLY\u00a0 YOU WILL BE JAILED.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

IF\u00a0 YOU CROSS THE CHINESE\u00a0 BORDER ILLEGALLY\u00a0 YOU MAY NEVER BE HEARD FROM\u00a0 AGAIN.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

IF\u00a0 YOU CROSS THE VENEZUELAN\u00a0 BORDER ILLEGALLY\u00a0 YOU WILL BE BRANDED A SPY AND YOUR FATE WILL BE\u00a0 SEALED.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

IF\u00a0 YOU CROSS THE CUBAN BORDER\u00a0 ILLEGALLY YOU\u00a0 WILL BE THROWN INTO POLITICAL PRISON TO\u00a0 ROT.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

IF\u00a0 YOU CROSS THE NIGERIAN BORDER\u00a0 ILLEGALLY\u00a0 YOU GET ?<\/p>\n

1….RIGHT TO KILL NIGERIANS,<\/p>\n

2….RIGHT NOT TO BE ARRESTED FOR MURDER<\/p>\n

3….RIGHT TO DESTROY NIGERIAN FARMERS CROPS WITH YOUR COWS<\/p>\n

4…..RIGHT TO BURN DOWN NIGERIAN VILLAGES<\/p>\n

5…..RIGHT TO BE PROTECTED BY NIGERIAN FORCES<\/p>\n

6…..RIGHT TO BE REHABILITATED and REINTEGRATED INTO NIGERIAN SOCIETY<\/p>\n

7….RIGHT TO AUTOMATIC NIGERIAN CITIZENSHIP<\/p>\n

8….RIGHT TO BE ACCOMMODATED AS NEIGHBOURS.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

What a unique country?”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Now, am not happy my country is so described. But more important to me is the various dire consequences that await illegal border crossing across countries. Then I remembered that sin is also a cross of border, in local parlance a trespass which is both a crime and civil wrong!<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Then I asked, “what’s\u00a0 the attraction that makes people cross border or carry illicit drugs even with physical death as penalty?”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

I came to the conclusion that the reward, which will not come if one is caught, is the attraction or enticement.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Pronto, I found better understanding in King Solomon admonition in Proverbs 1:10 apposite, “My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent.”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

So sin needs my attention. It needs my cooperation. It needs my consent to destroy me physically and spiritually!<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Then, I remember the bank saying, “To learn more about how to keep your account details safe, please visit here….”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

“Thank you for choosing…” And I say to you my reader, “To learn more about how to keep your life details safe, please visit and follow Bible instructions”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Don’t take the bait of sin. It’s wages is eternal death and separated from God’s Kingdom.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Thanks for saying and meaning it, ” God forbid”. If God will forbid, you must also.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

The ball is in your court and the time to turn to Jesus is now. Tomorrow, some say may be too late but I say to you, “Tomorrow is too late”.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

“Thank you for choosing God in the name of Jesus and being constantly guided by the Holy Spirit.”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

If something looks suspicious, please send an email or dial Holy Spirit with any verse of the scriptures to block your account anytime.”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Isn’t that great? I know and understand it is. May you do the same in Jesus Name.<\/p>\n
